There is more to California than just movies. From local bands to big names, there is no shortage of Los Angeles music entertainment this summer. Here is a quick rundown of some of the best upcoming music events you can find in LA.
From July 25th until September 7th, you will find over half a dozen summer concerts scheduled at different locations throughout LA where you will find familiar KCRW personalities that you love.
These are free outdoor performances for all ages. Spend some family time in the sun, eating, and relaxing to amazing music.
On August 18th in Los Angeles State Historic Park, Downtown, you will find Swedish songwriter Lykke Li in an all-female lineup of musicians. This music fest currently ranks as one of LA’s best music festival lineups this summer with a portion of the proceeds going to the Downtown Women’s Center.

Saturday, August 3rd in Helen Keller Park, you will find the Music Escape Festival. There will be live music and free food, and it is a free entry event. There will be food trucks on-site along with a magician and face painting, making it the ideal family outing this summer.
From Saturday, July 27 to Sunday, July 28th, you will find the annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival celebrates the legacy of Historic Central Avenue. It is one of the very few genuine jazz festivals still around in Southern California. There will be live jazz performances on 3 different stages. This is the music event to be at.
August 15th in Los Angeles brings you Echo Park Rising. It is a celebration of LA’s Eastside and is a free music festival going into its ninth year. You will find over 100 local up-and-coming bands, comedians, and more.
The Original Farmer’s Market
The farmers market brings you its annual farm-fresh summer music lineups on Friday nights, May through September. You will have access to amazing food and great music.
A summer favorite, the Twilight Concerts at the Santa Monica Pier is a summer tradition. Every Thursday night between 7 and 10 pm, you will have access to a free music series with a large lineup consisting of a variety of different music genres.
