Great Schools Of Los Angeles
One of the biggest draws of the Central Los Angeles area is the incredible schools. In these neighborhoods, you can find some of the top-rated schools in the country. Each district has both private and public schools within minutes of our homes. If you are a young family and are considering moving to one of the historic neighborhoods of Central Los Angeles, here is a list of some of the great schools in Los Angeles to help you decide where to settle. While this list is not exhaustive by any means (LA has hundreds of schools) it’s a good place to start:
 
Ramon C Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts: A public high school that blends standard high school curriculum and arts education located to the North of DTLA.
 
Central High School Tri-C: Located in the South of DTLA, Central is both a junior and senior high school.
 
Central City Value High School: Part of the value school system, Central city Value High School is a public school in Rampart Village.
 
Los Angeles High School of the Arts: Located in Koreatown, it’s a pilot public school that has a strong focus on arts and athletics.
 
Marlborough School: A private girl’s academy with a strong focus on STEM education in Central LA.
 
Cahuenga Elementary School: A public elementary school that offers language immersion and special needs education near Mid-Wilshire.
 
Hancock Park Elementary School: Right in Hancock Park, this public elementary school offers a school vegetable garden.
 
Hoover Street Elementary School: Near DTLA, Hoover Street is a public elementary school that offers a strong focus on building community.
 
Belmont High School: Located between DTLA and Silverlake, Belmont is a public high school known for diversity and high quality of education.
 
Loyola High School: A private high school that is known for its academics and athletics located in University Park.
 
Shalhevet School: A Jewish private school located to the West of Mid Wilshire.
 
Thomas Jefferson High School: A 100-year-old historic public high school located in University Park.
 
Dr. Sammy Lee Medical and Health Science Magnet School: A magnet elementary school located in Echo Park with a curriculum focus on STEM education.
